ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Butterfield Language Academy opened July 1st, 1980. The School Board consisted of five citizens: Arthur M. Robinson, Judith A. Nieburger, Rosemary A. Clayton, Gloria Okuda, and William D. Martin. The Superintendent was Leroy R. Small.  The school was originally built as a K-8. 

BLA was located in the community of Sunnymead which was later incorporated into the city of Moreno Valley in 1984. The school transformed from a K-8 to a K-5 and currently is a TK-8, Dual Language Immersion Academy with a 966 student enrollment.

Butterfield's mission is to ensure that our students are provided with the highest quality of education to achieve their best in all areas of life.

At Butterfield Language Academy, our vision is to support students' academic and social growth by instilling the skills necessary for personal growth.
