About our School

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Butterfield Language Academy opened July 1st, 1980. The School Board consisted of five citizens: Arthur M. Robinson, Judith A. Nieburger, Rosemary A. Clayton, Gloria Okuda, and William D. Martin. The Superintendent was Leroy R. Small.  The school was originally built as a K-8. 

BLA was located in the community of Sunnymead which was later incorporated into the city of Moreno Valley in 1984. The school transformed from a K-8 to a K-5 and currently is a TK-8, Dual Language Immersion Academy with a 966 student enrollment.


 

Mission: Butterfield's mission is to ensure that our students are provided with the highest quality of education to achieve their best in all areas of life.

Vision: At Butterfield Language Academy, our vision is to support students' academic and social growth by instilling the skills necessary for personal growth.
