Principal's Message

Dear Butterfield Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I sincerely hope that you, your family, and loved ones are safe and doing well.

While I realize many uncertainties exist in terms of social climate amidst COVID-19 and its impact on the education of students, the Moreno Valley Unified School District Board of Education officially announced their plan to start the 2020-2021 school year in a full distance learning model, which aligns with the California Governor’s issued mandate. I highly recommend that you read the letter included in this correspondence because it clearly outlines how the district will work to meet the governor’s rigorous distance learning and accountability requirements.

Butterfield will be communicating to families using Q Communications. You will be getting calls and emails about material distributions and other pertinent school related information via these platforms. Butterfield is also currently working on preparing the First Day of School Packets with my official welcome letter and all the other parts for the start of the school year. Remember the first day of school starts Wednesday, August 12th. I will communicate with more information through Q Communications within these next few weeks. I look forward to an amazing school year.

Thank you and continue to enjoy the rest of the summer break. Stay safe, Butterfield Families!

Sincerely,
Dr. Esmeralda Chalfant

Proud Principal
