Dual Language Immersion
Dual Language Immersion (DLI) is a six year academic program that develops bilingualism, biliteracy, and biculturalism in English and Spanish by integrating English learners, English speakers, and bilingual students.
The ideal class is comprised of 1/3 English-only students, 1/3 Spanish-only students, and 1/3 bilingual students.
90/10 Model
The six year DLI program is based on a 90/10 model where the percentage of instruction in Spanish diminishes as the program advances through grade levels until it reaches 50% in 4th grade.
